Install PWA (Web App) via Browser Integrated Install

Most browsers automatically indicate to the user that your Progressive Web App is installable. For example, desktop Chrome shows an install button in the omnibox.  Making your PWA installable moves it out of the browser and into a standalone window.

Install PWA (Web App) via App Store App Page Integrated Install button

To distribute a Progressive Web App (PWA) on the Google Play Store, you can use a technology called "Trusted Web Activity" (TWA) which essentially wraps your PWA within an Android package, allowing it to be listed and installed like a native app on the Play Store; this process involves creating a TWA app, configuring a digital asset links file, and uploading the generated APK to the Play Console.

Install PWA (Web App) via Any Promotion

Installing your Progressive Web App (PWA) can make it easier for users to find and use. Even with browser promotion, some users don't realize that they can install a PWA, so it can be helpful to provide an in-app experience that you can use to promote and enable installation of your PWA.

Install PWA (Web App) from In-App - own custom install flow directly within your app

Implement your own in-app UI to ask the user if they want to install the app, which will trigger the install prompt.  Many browsers let you enable and promote the installation of your Progressive Web App (PWA) directly within its user interface. Installation (sometimes formerly referred to as Add to Home Screen) lets users install your PWA on their mobile or desktop device. Installing a PWA adds it to a user's launcher so it can run like any other installed app.

Install PWA (Web App) Advantages

Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) are modern, high quality applications built using web technology. PWAs offer similar capabilities to iOS/Android/desktop apps, they are reliable even in unstable network conditions, and are installable making it easier for users to find and use them.  Most browsers indicate to the user that your Progressive Web App (PWA) is installable when it meets certain criteria. Example indicators include an Install button in the address bar, or an Install menu item in the overflow menu.  Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) are applications that you build by using web technologies, and that can be installed and can run on all devices, from one codebase.  PWAs provide native-like experiences and  can also run in web browsers, like websites.  Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) are built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code that's hosted on web servers and that runs in web browser engines. They can either be used directly in a web browser, like a website, or installed on a device from an app store, or by using the app installation feature of a supporting browser.
